Academics
At Canton Elementary School, we are committed to providing a high-quality educational experience that meets the academic, social, and emotional needs of every scholar. The instructional day begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes at 2:45 p.m.
Scholars receive rigorous instruction aligned to the Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards (MS CCRS) while participating in engaging, differentiated learning experiences. Each grade level incorporates Tiger Time, a dedicated intervention and enrichment block designed to meet students' individual learning needs through targeted instruction and skill development.
In addition to core instruction in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, scholars participate in weekly special area classes that include:
- Physical Education (P.E.)

- Library/Media
- Music
To ensure every scholar receives the support needed for success, CES offers a variety of specialized services, including:

Technology-based instructional resources, including i-Ready Reading and i-Ready Mathematics, are used to personalize learning, monitor student growth, and strengthen academic achievement.
